About a month after outlining its super app strategy – adding trains and car rentals and soon flights and hotels to its app – Uber has unleashed several new features designed to capture the end-to-end travel journey.
Among the offerings announced at the company’s Go Get 2022 virtual event is Uber Travel, which allows users to reserve rides for each leg of their itinerary in one go. By connecting a Gmail account, Uber Travel keeps track of flight, hotel and restaurant reservations in one place so travelers can find and book rides where needed.
Users earn 10% in Uber Cash for each ride booked with Uber Travel. The feature is currently available in the United States and will roll out to Canada in the coming weeks. Uber Travel users in the United Kingdom will also be able to book trains, coaches and car rentals this summer as part of a pilot program in the region.
The ride-share giant has also introduced Uber Charter, which lets groups book a party bus, passenger van or coach bus in the Uber app. Designed for events such as weddings or wine tastings, Uber Charter shows pricing upfront and is launching across the U.S. this summer.

Additionally, Uber for Business has redesigned its vouchers dashboard – originally launched in 2019 – and added new features such as a simplified creation workflow, scheduled communications, an automated code generator and recipient removals.
As part of its commitment to becoming a zero-emissions mobility platform by 2040, Uber is also introducing Comfort Electric, which lets riders request a ride in an electric vehicle like a Tesla or Polestar. The feature follows a partnership with Hertz announced last year that will make 50,000 Teslas available for drivers to rent by 2023.
Comfort Electric is currently available in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Dubai.
In March, Uber launched Uber Explore, which allows users to book experiences such as dinner reservations and live events. Partners for the endeavor include Yelp as well as New Zealand-based demand intelligence platform PredcitHQ.
Uber pulled in a record $6.9 billion in revenue for the first quarter of 2022. The company is forecasting gross bookings of between $28.5 billion and $29.5 billion in Q2.
