Transferz, an Amsterdam-based startup offering travel brands a global B2B mobility solution for transportation to and from airports, has landed €6.5 million. The funding round was led by “a consortium of individual business angels and family offices,” according to the company.
“At Transferz, our focus is on delivering the highest quality of transportation services to global travel partners while also making a positive impact on the communities and environments in which we operate,” says Johan van Vulpen, Transferz CEO. “This new funding round will allow us to further invest in our technology and to expand our offerings on the Transferz tech platform” to include public transit, such as train and bus.

Founded in 2020, Transferz works with local transportation providers and operates in the background, allowing travel brands to offer its pre-booked mobility product in their own branding. The Transferz platform offers any mode of transportation to and from more than 750 airports, seaports, train stations, and soon, “point-to-point destinations globally,” according to the company, which expects to become profitable in the coming months.
“We are directly integrated on the core platforms of leading travel companies such as Booking.com and Expedia, various airlines, online travel agencies, tour operators and corporate travel agencies,” says Transferz CFO Maarten Vrijhof.
Vrijhof says Transferz is “causing a stir” in the market by focusing on peace of mind for the traveler, travel brand and local transfer companies; providing a global network that covers more than 100 countries; and embedding sustainability in its operations through electric transit options and a fair pricing principle.
Jan Kees de Jager, one of the lead investors and former minister of finance of the Netherlands, say Transferz “has the potential to be a game-changer in the pre-booked ground transportation industry, not just in terms of its technology and platform, but also in its commitment to sustainability.”
